Pinterest Remake

I saw a super cute card on Pinterest the other day and decided to make a similar one since I had the supplies. Here is my take:

I used a cloud die to make the marshmallows/froth. I tried using glossy accents to make my candy cane shiny but the red kept bleeding onto the white. Oh well! I might make a few more of these with different sentiments as one of my cards for next year.

January Birthday Cards

One of my dear friends has an early January birthday and I wanted to make her a more personalized card with Birthday Classics: January stamp set. I decided to CASE Ashley's card. This was my version, changing out the coffee cup for a mug and making it purple since that is my friend's favorite color.
Unfortunately, I stamped the sentiment slightly crooked (I wish my MISTI would get here!) so I decided to make another one to send my friend. She is a fellow crafter and I wanted her to have a mistake free card. I decided I really liked the coffee cup Ashley used and made this card:

No purple but I think the red goes better with kraft. I hope she likes it!

Lastly, I decided to decorate a moleskin sketch book in an attempt to start crafting more regularly and journal my crafting. Here is the book:
Inside, on the first page I wrote a few goals for 2015:
  • Do something crafty nearly every day
  • Make 2-3 cards a week
  • Send a card to a friend at least once a month (preferably weekly)
  • Participate in a challenge once a week
  • Use a stamp set that has never been used once a week
  • HAVE FUN
I spent the last few days reorganizing my craft room. Everything is clean and in its place ready to be used. I have so many stamp sets that have never seen ink. I plan to remedy that this year. I'm not saying that I won't buy more but I need to be more selective and really use what I have and only buy things that fill a gap. My husband and I have decided to cancel cable in hopes to be more active in the new year and also, I hope it encourages me to go to my craft room instead of plopping on the couch in the evenings. I didn't set a goal to post on the blog so my sporadic posting will probably continue :)

Papertrey Make it Monday #195

This week's Make it Monday challenge is a little different than previous weeks. We were to pick one of the techniques used from previous Make it Monday challenges. I chose MIM #153 Watercolored Background with Heat Embossed Sentiments.  Here is my card:

I used a yellow Faber Castell gelato to watercolor the background and aqua Zing embossing powder for the Wish Big sentiment. All other products are Papertrey Ink. Thanks for looking!

A Few Christmas Cards

Better late than never! Here are a few Christmas cards I made this year. I made many tinsel & tags ornaments but didn't take any pictures before giving out to the neighbors. I made several shaker snow globe cards, again forgetting to take pictures. Here is a non-shaker globe card I was able to take (after giving it to my husband).
The next card is one I sent to a few people. It was more time consuming so I only made around 10.
And here is the card that went to most of the people on my card mailing list. Simple and flat for cheaper mailing :) I just love that bow from Tinsel & Tags Sprigs! I know I will get a ton of use out of that little stamp.
Everything was Papertrey except for the patterned paper (Authentique, Festive Collection) on the first card and sentiment on the wreath card. That one is from Verve. I think the set is called Richly Blessed.

I hope you are all having a peaceful Christmas break!

Papertrey Make it Monday #194

Stamps- A Cheerful Heart, Mehndi Medallion, one of the Boutique Borders
Paper- white, dark chocolate, lemon tart, hawaiian shores
Ink- hawaiian shores, aqua mist, lemon tart, sweet blush, dark chocolate

December Papertrey Blog Hop

Silver & gold 1
I had a chance to make a card for the Papertrey Blog Hop. The challenge was to use silver and gold on a project. Here is my take:

I used the gold tape from on of the Make It Market kits and some silver and gold embossing powder for a quick and easy card.
